MAP proposes to convert the Promenade’s existing, and under-used, infrastructure into the following...

The Cossitt Library would be converted into a public-use multi-purpose arts center – providing emerging artists with a Film Center, a Music Center, a Theatre Center, and a Dance Center.
[Donor Name] Visual Art Center and Art Park (parking garage at SW corner of Front and Monroe)
The existing parking garage would be replaced with a new underground garage two stories below Front St. / two stories above Riverside Dr. On the rooftop of the garage overlooking the Mississippi River and connecting with Front St., a green rooftop art park would be built, which would house a permanent artist market. Also atop the new garage, a new Visual Art Center would be built, which would include visual art facilities and a mural studio.
[Donor Name] Exhibition Center (fire station at NW corner of Front & Union)
The fire station would be converted into a flex-use gallery/exhibition/event space, which would also feature a café with gallery seating as well as outdoor patio seating on the bluff courtyard. The Exhibition Center’s second floor would house office space for MAP and its Partner Organizations as well as public meeting/class rooms.
